Welcome to the MTC: Missionary Training Center — Provo, Utah.
It is
on the campus of Brigham Young University slightly north of the main
campus. (There are others throughout the world.)
I spent one week in language immersion training (Apr. 15-
Apr. 20) from about 8 A.M.- 8 P.M. Mon-Sat.
This picture is I and my tutor Sr. Lillywhite. Language Immersion Training was a follow-up
for the studying the Cebuano language – mostly on Skype – that I have been
doing since the first part of February.
We have a wonderful group of about 100 Senior Missionary
couples going to places all over the world.
Of that group we have six single Senior Sisters.
We have spent most of our first week learning how to share the gospel with others. Next week we will spend some time here and
some at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City to learn about the
Perpetual Education Fund and Church Employment Services. Our goal will be to help the people of the
Philippines become more self reliant in knowing how to find a potential job,
plan for and finance the education/ training necessary to prepare for it, and obtain
the skills necessary to be hired and progress within the job.
We have also been privileged to go to the Provo Temple
several times while we have been here.
Temple sessions remind us of the sacred promises we have made to try and
live as our Savior Jesus Christ would have us do.
The trees and flowers here are absolutely gorgeous. It is definitely spring!
